Essay On My Role Model Is Father Ray

2014-2015 Role Model: Nora Ephron (1941-2012)

Nora Ephron was known for her caustic wit, biting sarcasm, brutal honesty, and her innovative sense of humor as a reporter, essayist, playwright, and screenwriter. Her credits include countless essays, plays, the iconic films When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve Got Mail, and her autobiographical book, Heartburn, which was turned into a movie. Her family were secularists and incidental Jews. She bristled at being pegged a “Jewish director,” just as she cringed at being described as a “woman director”: “It seems like a narrow way of looking at what I do.” She was neither an observant or strongly self-identified Jew. “You can never have too much butter—that is my belief. If I have a religion, that’s it,” she quipped in an NPR interview about her 2009 movie Julie & Julia. In 1994, she received the Women in Film Crystal Award. After her death from leukemia in 2012, the Tribeca Film Festival established the Nora Ephron Prize, which awards $25,000 to a female writer or director “with a distinctive voice who embodies [her] spirit and vision.”

My role models are my parents. They are my pillars of strength. They are my guide and give me the courage to battle obstacles in life.

My mother, being a working professional, manages all her work perfectly and with efficiency.

My father goes to office, but still does not forget to help me with my studies. They always encourage me in every aspect and motivate me even when I do not succeed.

My mother always smiles, no matter what the circumstances are and that gives me the strength and inspiration to face all problems.

My parents have made me understand what life is about and how to find that little ray of happiness in difficult situations.

What I am today and what I will become in future involves the support and affection of my parents. They have made me disciplined, dedicated and sincere.

A role model does not have to be a famous personality. It can be anyone who makes us believe in ourselves.

My parents fill sweetness in my life. From childhood I have learnt everything from my parents.

Not just parents, I also consider my teachers as role models. Even they guide me and show the path of success.

They have turned me into a fighter in the war of life.
